A Survey of the Status of Women Entrepreneurs in Iran and Suggestions for their Development (Iran – Japan)

Based on the agreement between the Iranian Vice Presidency of Women and Family Affairs and the Sasakawa Peace Foundation have agreed to commence a research project on women entrepreneurship in September 2017. To accomplish this, a university team from the Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Japan undertook the responsibility of research on women’s economic participation in Japan with a business and entrepreneurial approach. In Iran, the National Association of Women’s Entrepreneurs (NAWE) and the Entrepreneurship Development Foundation for Women and Youth (EDF) also co-sponsored research on the state of entrepreneurship and business for women. By the end of the first phase of research, a meeting took place in May 2018 aimed at presenting the two countries’ reports, in which both countries benefit from the executive suggestions and suggested strategies for developing a business environment and entrepreneurship for women. The second phase has been defined under “Promotion of Women’s Entrepreneurship by Utilizing ICT” subject.
